Matthew 6:6

"But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret.  And your Father who sees in secret will reward you."

There were many times that Jesus withdrew to pray.  In Luke 5:16 it says that Jesus would withdraw to desolate places to pray.  Before His ministry started, He prayed in the desert by himself for 40 days.  This was a habit for Jesus.  It wasn’t an “every-so-often” occurrence.  It was something that happened regularly for Jesus to go to His Father.

God wants to meet with you.  Make sure you are taking out time during your busy days to meet with Him.  Let this time be free of distraction and full of focus.  We are not waiting on God to answer; God is waiting on us to come before Him and listen.

The same Father that Jesus went to is the one that we have, as well. Let us go to Him to be refreshed and out of necessity for out spiritual growth and spiritual health.

Here are some examples of Christ secluding Himself to pray to the Father.

Luke 22:41-44

Mark 1:12-13
