MADE NEW

As followers of Jesus, we are called to embrace the powerful act of baptism.

If you’ve made Jesus the Lord of your life, we’d be honored to help you take this step of faith in obedience to Scripture. Baptisms are typically held on the first Sunday of every month.

BAPTISMS

BAPTISM SUNDAY

  • Baptism is an important step of obedience that shows others we have personally trusted Jesus for our salvation. Jesus was baptized when He was on the earth, and we do this to follow His example. When Christians are baptized, they are submerged under water to identify with the death and burial of Jesus and raised out of the water to identify with His resurrection.

Romans 6:4 says, β€œWe were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”

  • Baptism is for anyone who has made the personal decision to follow Jesus Christ and wants to publicly declare that faith. If you're wondering whether baptism is for you, here are a few things to consider:

Have you trusted in Jesus as your Savior?

Baptism is a step of obedience for those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ. If you’ve confessed your sins and accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, baptism is an important next step in your faith journey.

Do you want to publicly declare your faith?

Baptism is a public testimony of your personal faith in Christ. If you’re ready to show the world that you belong to Jesus and are committed to following Him, baptism is the way to do that.

Are you ready to take the next step in your relationship with God?

Baptism symbolizes your new life in Christ. It's an outward expression of the transformation that has already taken place in your heart. If you’re ready to follow Jesus in obedience, baptism is a beautiful way to mark that moment in your life.

  • Baptism is an important step in your faith journey, and there are several reasons why it's a meaningful and necessary part of following Jesus. Here’s why you should consider baptism:

It’s an Act of Obedience to Jesus

Jesus commanded His followers to be baptized (Matthew 28:19-20). As believers, we are called to obey Christ and follow His example. Jesus Himself was baptized (Matthew 3:13-17), and by being baptized, we publicly acknowledge our obedience to His teachings.

It’s a Public Declaration of Your Faith

Baptism is your opportunity to publicly declare that you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior. It’s a way to share your new life with others and to testify to the world that you belong to Christ (Romans 10:9). It’s a joyful moment to celebrate your decision to follow Jesus!

It Identifies You with Christ’s Death, Burial, and Resurrection

When you are baptized by immersion, it symbolizes your identification with Jesus in His death, burial, and resurrection. As you go under the water, it represents Jesus’ death and burial. Coming up out of the water symbolizes His resurrection and the new life you have in Him (Romans 6:3-4).

It’s a Step into the Family of God

Baptism is not only a personal declaration but also a communal act. It marks your entry into the family of God and the church community. Through baptism, you are publicly joining the body of believers, and we, as your church family, celebrate this new chapter in your faith.

It’s a Symbol of Your New Life in Christ

Baptism symbolizes the transformation that happens in the life of every believer. Through Jesus, we are forgiven and made new (2 Corinthians 5:17). Baptism marks the moment when you publicly show that you’ve been spiritually reborn and now live for Christ.

  • The word "baptize" literally means "to fully submerge" or "to plunge" under water. The Bible teaches that baptism should be done by immersion, not sprinkling, because it symbolizes Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. The act of full immersion in water best represents this powerful image.

John 1:26 says, "John answered them, saying, I baptize with water."

Mark 1:9-10 says, "And it came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon Him."

  • In the Bible, baptism always followed salvation immediately. There's no reason to delay! It's a chance to celebrate your decision to follow Jesus. As soon as someone accepts Christ as their Savior, they can and should be baptized, if they're able.

Acts 16:30-33 says, "Then he brought them out and said, β€œSirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they said, β€œBelieve in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” And they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds; and he was baptized at once, he and all his family."

  • Baptism is not required for salvation, but it is an important step of obedience to Christ.

It’s an outward expression of the inward change that has taken place in your life when you trust in Jesus. Choosing not to be baptized is like a bride who refuses to wear her wedding ringβ€”it’s a symbol of commitment, but refusing it would miss the opportunity to publicly declare your love and commitment. By not being baptized, we miss the chance to honor Jesus and to share with others that we are proudly His. Baptism is a blessing that allows us to publicly identify with Christ and to testify to the world of the transformation He has made in our lives.

James 4:17 says. " ... to him that knows to do good, and does it not, to him it is sin."

John 8:31 says, "The said Jesus to those who believed on Him, if you continue in my word, then you are my disciples indeed."

John 15:14 says, "[Jesus said:] You are my friend, if you do whatever I command you."
